Preventative Maintenance - WINTER
When cold weather approaches various maintenance items should be addressed in each of your homes. Failure to address these items at a minimum could lead to unnecessary deterioration to your homes. If you need help with any of these tasks, please contact us so we can arrange for our office to perform the necessary tasks.
Clean gutters and downspouts of all debris as well as window wells and lower level stairwell drains.
Routine checks of HVAC equipment, properly adjust humidification systems. generators, wine units, etc.
Replace/ Clean all air filters.
Check operation of Smoke Detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detectors.
Vacuum motor(s) on all refrigeration equipment and clean Central Vacuum motors and canisters as well.
On flat roofs, clean around all roof drains and in cases of heavy snow, etc., remove excess amounts.
Drain all exterior hosebibbs, winterize irrigation systems and properly close down pools.
Remove ice and snow when build up is adjacent to doors and windows.
Reset GFI electrical outlets in panels, insure proper operation of sump pumps and condensate pumps.
Check batteries in programmable thermostats.
